The historic center of Monopoli <\/strong> is a jewel <\/strong> of popular architecture mixed with sumptuous religious buildings and splendid noble palaces.<\/p>\n

Monopoli develops along the Adriatic coast. Nearby, easily reachable, we find some centers of notable tourist interest such as Polignano a Mare, Alberobello, Castellana Grotte, Ostuni <\/strong> and Fasano.

The rural territory, <\/strong> made up of 99 districts <\/strong>, extends over an area of \u200b\u200bover 150 square kilometers of great naturalistic interest , landscape and cultural.
\nIn fact, there are numerous fortified Masserie <\/strong> (centers of agricultural activities) also dating back to Roman times, Rock churches, trulli <\/strong>, beautiful villas <\/strong> neoclassical and farmhouses. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Among the major tourist attractions of <\/strong> Monopoli <\/strong> there are the Roman testimonies ( Egnazia <\/strong>) , Byzantine (rock frescoes), Lombard, Norman (farmhouses, farms, fortresses) and Ispane (Castle of Charles V).<\/p>\n

Do not miss the Feast of the Madonna della Madia <\/strong> (December 16 and August 15) which every year revives devoted residents and numerous tourists, the episode of the landing of the raft with an icon of the Virgin on board.<\/p>\n
